Note! Let the loading of this page come to a complete stop, to make the internal links work.

The file examples in this document are valid for
TSP 5.0 with TelORB processors running Dicos OS only and IO processors running Linux OS (TelORB R15).

This page contains examples of some configuration files that are necessary for running a TelORB system.

The files in this example collection originates from TelORB system to13, which consists of 25 TelORB processors where all processors run with Dicos OS and the IO processors run with Linux OS.
The IO processors are not yet included in the TSP cluster (which they will be later in the TSP 5.0 project).
Proc_m0_s9 and Proc_m1_s11 are used as Dicos loaders (PLGLs).
The IP addresses of to13 are specified in TelORB Guidelines, below the heading "TelORB system to13".

The following examples of TelORB and IO set up files are currently available:

# Include Jambala HLR, SCP and Populator
#epconfig s -r /home/dicostest/systest/Applications/JAMBALA2.0/APPLICATION/

On the IO processors, the following KickStart/TSP versions were used as seen in
the file /opt/OS/kickstart/ks-io-ide.cfg on the IOs:
  KS_REV="R1A02"
  TSP_VERSION="TSP4, Drop3.4"

On the IO processors, the following tools version was used as seen in the file
/opt/telorb/codearchive/version:
  CXP901305.R1X01

General File Information               Back to Contents

Some parts of this section is not valid yet!

Regarding the epct files, either include everything in one epct file or split
it up into several epct files for a better overview. The latter is used in these
guidelines.

o File for setting up the build environment with information about e.g. which AD
  or test bed to build from, as well as information about which epct files to be
  included when building the system:
  - Envsettings

o File that includes what name the TelORB system will get after the initial
  load.
  Also, the file contains information about the zone identity if the TelORB
  system is part of a network redundant system:
  - name.epct                 (NAME, ZONE)

o Files that include TelORB processor MAC addresses:
  - processor.epct            (ADDRESS)
  - dhcpd.pxe.conf
  - telorb.conf               (IO1 & IO2: /opt/telorb/etc/)
  - networkAddresses          (IO1: /opt/telorb/axe/loadingGroup01_1/)
                              (IO2: /opt/telorb/axe/loadingGroup01_2/)
                              (Automatically created at initial load)

o Files that include IP addresses:
  - telorbData.epct           (DorbIIOPHostName, DUMP_HOST_ID, ETHSW_ADDRESSES)
  - dhcpd.pxe.conf
  - hosts
  - ep_tftpd.conf

o Files that include processor allocations to pools (dependent on the number of
  TelORB processors):
  - processor.epct            (PROCESSOR)
  - netred.epct               (PROCESSOR)
  - demo.epct                 (PROCESSOR)
  - java.epct                 (PROCESSOR)
  - omed.epct                 (PROCESSOR)
  - pools.epct                (PROCESSOR)

o Files that are dependent on the number of TelORB processors (also see previous
  item, i.e. processor allocations to pools):
  - dhcpd.pxe.conf (It is OK to include more processors than what
                               physically exist in the TelORB system. This is
                               however not valid for the processor.epct file)
  - start_services            (/opt/telorb/tools/bin/STSsw 7 7001 -log &)
                              (/opt/telorb/tools/bin/DicosSyslogClient -L -m io1
                               134.138.xx.101-107 > /opt/telorb/syslog &)
  - README.txt (For starting consolelogs, located at e.g.
                               /home/telorb/toX/consolelogs on e.g. a local WS)

o File that includes settings depending on the number of cabinets in the system:
  - telorbData.epct           (ETHSW_ADDRESSES)

o Files that include information about which software IDPs/IDGs that are being
  used:
  - telorb.epct               (SOFTWARE)
  - netred.epct               (SOFTWARE)
  - demo.epct                 (SOFTWARE)
  - java.epct                 (SOFTWARE)
  - omed.epct                 (SOFTWARE)
  - axmp.epct                 (SOFTWARE)
  - servicePlatform.epct      (SOFTWARE)

o Files that include initial data settings:
  - telorbData.epct           (INITIAL DATA)
  - servicePlatform.epct      (INITIAL DATA)

o File that includes information about where to put backups and where to reload
  from:
  - ep_tftpd.conf

// Parameters for TelORB Processors
// ================================
// Additional PROCESSOR pools (than what is specified below) should preferably
// be added in a separate epct file.
//
// The TelORB processor names represent the physical processor board position in
// the cabinet, e.g. TelORB processor Proc_m0_s9 is located in magazine 0,
// slot 9.
// For TelORB processors Proc_m0_s9 and Proc_m1_s9, the following apply:
// - Specify MAC addresses, as described below.
// - Do not change any other settings, since these processors should run with
// Dicos and be Dicos loaders.
//
// Adjust the following:
// - ADDRESS: Specify MAC addresses for eth0 and eth1 for each processor, e.g.
//            00:a0:a5:50:01:db 00:a0:a5:50:01:dc.
// - Specify which Operating System each processor should run with, as follows:
// Dicos: The processor lines with the comment "// Dicos" should be
//            uncommented.
// The processor lines with the comment "// Linux" should be
//            commented.
// Linux: The processor lines with the comment "// Linux" should be

# Initial Data Parameters for File Server(s)
# ==========================================
# Any of the PMD-ETH processor boards, which are not used as IO processors, may
# be used as file servers. However, the processors which will be used as file
# servers, must NOT be included in the TelORB cluster. It is therefore important
# that the configuration of these processors are removed (//) in the section
# "Parameters for TelORB Processors" in this file.
# Actually, the DNS settings for the file server processors should also be
# removed (#) in the section "Initial Data Parameters for DNS" in this file,
# but this is not necessary.
# In addition to this, some changes are necessary in the corresponding
# telorb.conf file. See section "Configuration of File Server(s)" in the
# telorb.conf file.
#
# If a file server will be used, uncomment the "FileSystemCommand..." lines
# below "File server 1" and adjust the following:
# - FileSystemCommand_320: Specify the IP addresses of eth0 (network A) and eth1
# (network B) on the processor used as file server,
#                          e.g.
#                          -o ipaddr=172.16.0.1 -o ipaddr=172.16.8.1.
# Note: The IP addresses must be the same as specified
# in the corresponding telorb.conf file.

#
# If a second file server will be used, uncomment the "FileSystemCommand..."
# lines below "File server 2" and adjust the "FileSystemCommand_350" line in the
# same way as for "File server 1".
#
# If more than two file servers will be used, just add further

# Configuration of TelORB Processors (eth0 & eth1)
# ================================================
# The TelORB processor names represent the physical processor board position in
# the cabinet, e.g. TelORB processor Proc_m0_s9 is located in magazine 0,
# slot 9.
# For TelORB processors dicosProc_m0_s9 and dicosProc_m1_s9, the following
# apply:
# - Specify MAC addresses, as described below.
# - Do not change any other settings, since these processors should run with
# Dicos and be Dicos loaders (eptftp).
#
# Adjust the following:
# - Specify MAC addresses for eth0 and eth1 for each processor, as follows:
#     eth_addr_for_eth0: MAC address for eth0, e.g. 00:a0:a5:4c:00:eb.
#     eth_addr_for_eth1: MAC address for eth1, e.g. 00:a0:a5:4c:00:ec.
# - Define which Operating System each processor should run with, as follows:
# Dicos: The processor lines should start with dicosProc, e.g.
#            dicosProc_m0_s15_0.
# Linux: The processor lines should start with linuxProc, e.g.
#            linuxProc_m0_s15_0.
# Since all processors with Linux OS are loaders, the eptftp line
# where it says "Linux loader" should be uncommented.
#            (eptftp_server_net0/1 specifies that a TelORB processor is a
#            loader.)

# Configuration of TelORB Processors with VIP interface (eth2 & eth3)
# ===================================================================
# Currently, VIP can only be used on TelORB processors running with Dicos.
# In the template, TelORB processors Proc_m0_s1, Proc_m0_s5, Proc_m0_s13,
# Proc_m0_s15, Proc_m0_s17, Proc_m0_s19, Proc_m1_s5, Proc_m1_s17, Proc_m1_s19,
# Proc_m3_s1, Proc_m3_s17, Proc_m3_s19, Proc_m4_s1, Proc_m4_s17 and
# Proc_m4_s19 are prepared for VIP usage.
#
# Adjust the following for each VIP interface:
# - vip-network vipnetX: Depending on your VIP router configurations, the IP
# addresses of the VIP nets may have to be modified,
#                        e.g. 192.168.61.0.
# (If the VIP routers have not yet been configured, the
# default values for the VIP nets, used in the template,
# can be kept and later be used when configuring
#                        the VIP routers.)
# - ip_addr_for_vipX: Depending on your VIP router configurations, the IP
# addresses of the VIP router links on the TelORB
# processor end may have to be modified, e.g.
#                        192.168.61.2.
# (If the VIP routers have not yet been configured, the
# default values for the VIP router links, used in the
# template, can be kept and later be used when
#                        configuring the VIP routers.)
# - eth_addr_for_vipX:   Specify MAC addresses for eth2 and eth3, e.g.
#           vip_dicosProc_m0_s13_2 eth_addr_for_vip0 00:80:37:5e:ff:98 for eth2

#           vip_dicosProc_m0_s13_3 eth_addr_for_vip1 00:80:37:5e:ff:99 for eth3.
# - Specify which Operating System each TelORB processor with VIP interfaces
# should run with, as follows:
# Dicos: The processor lines should start with vip_dicosProc, e.g.
#            vip_dicosProc_m0_s17_2.

# Configuration of File Server(s)
# ===============================
# Any of the PMD-ETH processor boards, which are not used as IO processors, may
# be used as file servers. However, the processors which will be used as file
# servers, must NOT be included in the TelORB cluster. It is therefore important
# that the configuration of these processors are removed (#) in the sections
# "Configuration of TelORB Processors (eth0 & eth1)" and "Configuration of
# TelORB Processors with VIP interface (eth2 & eth3)" in this file.
# In addition to this, some changes are necessary in the corresponding
# epct file. See section "Initial Data Parameters for File Server(s)" in the
# epct file.
#
# If a file server will be used, uncomment the "internal-network..." lines
# below "File server 1" and adjust the following:
# - internal-network fs1net0:     IP address of eth0 (network A) on the
# processor used as file server, e.g.
#                                 172.16.0.1.
# Note: The IP address must be the same as
# specified in the corresponding epct file.
# - internal-network fs1ethaddr0: MAC address of eth0, e.g. 00:a0:a5:4c:68:6e.
# - internal-network fs1net1:     IP address of eth1 (network B), e.g.
#                                 172.16.8.1.
# Note: The IP address must be the same as
# specified in the corresponding epct file.
# - internal-network fs1ethaddr1: MAC address of eth1, e.g. 00:a0:a5:4c:68:6f.
#
# If a second file server will be used, uncomment the "internal-network..."
# lines below "File server 2" and adjust the equivalent lines as for "File
# server 1".
#
# If more than two file servers will be used, just add further
# "internal-network..." lines with valid IP and MAC addresses.
